We need to make the Commander in Chief be a separate person.

To get the best candidate, we allow that a national campaign for a party nomination start small, and go from there. It's sensible from a money standpoint, if nothing else. Do we really only want to pick for our party nomination the people who can muster the millions and millions of dollars it would take to pull that off at the start?

As for how the nominees are selected, the Constitution is silent. It only gets involved on the actual election itself. Any party can do whatever it chooses to select their nominee. Getting their nominee on the ballot is a matter of state law. Not the Constitution.

She should quit because she's hurting her party, not helping the country at all, she can't win, she's infusing race into the thing more than is healthy or necessary, she hasn't the money to keep going except to dig even deeper in her bank accounts, and she's demonstrating fully why she isn't electable - she, like Bush, can't listen.

Oh, and if you are willing to hurt the party AND the nation in your effort to "serve" it, might I suggest you might not be worthy of the position?

We have no recourse but to keep the electoral system as it is. It's the only thing that allows EVERYONE to feel adequately represented. And that keeps us from a tyranny of the majority.

14 - talking to yourself or to 13?

And I stand by my opinion. If I am willing to cause harm to my kids to get them - and that unnecessary harm - then I'm not worthy of custodianship. Now the process of the hearing could be jarring, but I needn't amplify it to manipulate them into choosing me. If you follow the metaphor.

Either way, I'm not going to argue with you when all you have as a response is a hand wave.

I was agreeing with you. Clinton is behaving like Bush.
